Gujarat Legislative Assembly

Gujarat Assembly Election 2027

Gujarat's 182-seat assembly, elected from 33 districts, has been continuously governed by the BJP since 1995 — the longest unbroken run of any state. 13 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 27 for Scheduled Tribes. The 2027 election will test whether the BJP can extend its three-decade streak against a fragmented opposition of Congress and AAP, with industrial growth, the Saurashtra agrarian economy, and coastal/tribal-belt development as key regional themes.

Given the size of this assembly, the browser below lists a very substantial, district-organised set of constituencies compiled from public records. A handful of seat names may still need final cross-checking against the live ECI roll before the 2027 notification — see the source note below.

Where things stand

The BJP won a record 156 of 182 seats in 2022 — its highest-ever tally in the state and among the biggest landslides in any Indian state election — retaining Bhupendra Patel as Chief Minister, while the Congress collapsed to 17 seats and AAP emerged as the principal opposition with 5.
